have had my own design practice for over fifteen years. My
experience includes high end residential, commercial and medical
offices. I have designed and produced hundreds of custom furniture
pieces for client needs and been consulted on furniture design by a
number of furniture manufacturers. My design practice has been
involved with numerous new construction and extensive remodeling
projects where I have been involved in the actual space planning,
along with being responsible for selection of all interior surface
material and furnishing selections. My design practice has given
me extensive experience in sourcing, scheduling and managing the
resources necessary to complete projects on time and within
budgetary criteria. I enjoy working as part of a team and have good
team building and communication skills. One aspect aside from
creative design solutions is that I enjoy working closely with other
professionals, and with my clients.
responsibilities encompassed all aspects of management of a staff
of approximately 18 Designers in two locations, serving residential
and commercial projects. As Buyer, I was responsible for
purchasing all categories of product, except carpeting and area
rugs. I was also responsible for product presentation and special
events planning for the introduction of new product collections.
Designers for over 25 years and have held most offices of our local
chapter. I was responsible for creating a study program for the
National Council for Interior Design Qualification on our local
level. It became one of several models for the National A.S.I.D.
Organization to develop their S.T.E.P. program. I was awarded
the Designer of Distinction Award several years ago by our local
A.S.I.D. Chapter. I have mentored many design students, and
taught business practices and design courses on a college level.
